I love Spotify, not just because of its extensive music library but also podcasts – they help me learn, grow as a person, and just make me smarter.
If you have never heard of Spotify in a podcast discussion, you and I were the same a couple of months ago. Spotify is a platform that holds millions of audio files ranging from music to (of course) podcasts.
That said, the library of podcasts on Spotify is huge. You can scrape through them for hours, and it would never end. But you don’t have to do that because I will be sharing a list of only the best podcasts that you can listen to on Spotify.
If that sounds good to you, let’s cut to the chase and jump right into it.
Best Ways to Listen to Podcasts
Before we jump right into the podcast channels on Spotify, you should know how to make your podcast listening experience worth it. So, here you go:
Podcasts are to be listened to efficiently, and I combine them with tasks like laundry, working out, cooking, or any activity that doesn’t require much attention. If I dedicate my time just to listening to podcasts, it will take hours of my important time. So, I try to kill two birds with one stone. You can do that too.
On top of that, to improve the listening experience, Spotify offers high-quality audio to Premium users. If you have a Premium account, go into the audio settings and set it to high quality. Just make sure you have a fast internet plan to listen to high-quality audio seamlessly. I recommend subscribing to any Xfinity Internet plans for a better streaming experience: they are affordable and widely available in the US. Do check them out.
4 Best Podcasts to Listen to on Spotify
Caso 63 (or Case 63)
One of the best story narrators is Caso 63’s host. That said, if you’re into immersive storytelling that has you feel like watching a movie rather than listening to a recording, Caso 63 (and its English adaptation, Case 63) is the best for you.
What I adore the most about this podcast is that it isn’t like an interview or talk-show podcast; it’s a scripted science-fiction thriller that blurs reality and mystery in ways only a few podcasts are currently doing.
Originally, Caso 63 is a Latin American Spotify Original.
That Latin American podcast was so good that it was adapted into multiple languages, including an English version featuring well-known Hollywood actors. The story revolves around a psychiatrist and a patient who claims to be a time traveler, and from there, things get very interesting.
If you enjoy podcasts that feel like binge-worthy TV shows without a screen, this one should be on your list.
The Joe Rogan Experience
No list of top Spotify podcasts is complete without The Joe Rogan Experience because Joe is really the GOAT of podcasts.
Joe Rogan has built one of the most influential long-form podcasts in the world, bringing in guests from everywhere – comedians, scientists, athletes, authors, and public figures you won’t hear anywhere else.
Episodes are long, sometimes very long, but that’s exactly why The Joe Rogan Experience is unique. Conversations unfold naturally, without a script or tight time limit. Some days it’s deep and philosophical, and on others, it’s funny and completely unpredictable.
Some people don’t like JRE, but love it or hate it, I would never deny its impact. All in all, it is as good as it gets. If you haven’t watched any episode, do start with its jungle-related episode; you’ll love it.
The Daily
If staying informed matters to you but scrolling through endless headlines doesn’t, The Daily will be a great choice for you. This podcast breaks down one major news story every weekday, usually in under 30 minutes.
The best thing about The Daily is that instead of overwhelming you with updates, it focuses on context and clarity. It’s not limited to just the highlights of the story as you get background, expert voices, and thoughtful reporting that actually helps you understand what’s going on, not just what happened.
So, do shortlist this if you are in your 40s and want to keep up with daily news.
Crime Junkie
I am a true crime (storytelling) fan, and Crime Junkie is the epitome of it.
Crime Junkie talks about real-world murder cases, missing persons, and unsolved mysteries in a way that’s easy to follow. When you listen to the podcast, you may feel like walking through each case like a story, unlike other crime podcasts that feel like they are literally reading a report.
New episodes are uploaded regularly, and every case is detailed enough to have you keep listening without feeling overwhelmed.
I usually listen to this late at night, and that’s exactly when it has the best experience.
All in all, these are the best podcasts on Spotify that you can listen to. Just make sure to kill two birds with one stone by listening to them while running your errands.
